No drying cages!

 

We do not under any circumstances, use cages with hair-dryers attached or directed at them. All our dogs are professionally hand dried with hand held temperature controlled dryers.

 

Terms & Conditions of Grooming

By requesting a booking you are deemed to agree to the following terms and conditions :-

 

1. You warrant that your dog is fit, healthy and up to date with all necessary vaccinations.

 

2. The grooming of elderly dogs is undertaken entirely at the owners risk. Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems that 4paws cannot be held liable for.

 

3. If we feel that de-matting your dog would cause too much stress and discomfort we may recommend a complete clip down. This will dramatically change your dog’s appearance as their hair will be short and close to the skin. A complete clip down may expose pre-existing skin conditions such as hotspots, sores, parasite infestation, urine and faeces scalding, fungal, bacterial and yeast infections. The client should also be aware that skin irritation and nicks might occur from the shaving process. 4paws will not be held liable for any problems caused from a complete clip off regardless of if requested by the customer or due to a matted or neglected coat. This could include, but is not limited to the following: itchiness, skin redness, irritations or abrasions however caused, post groom furunculosis, pyoderma - superficial or deep and/or pyotraumatic dermatitis.

 

4. The dog owners should maintain their dog’s coat in between regular grooming appointments (every 6-8 weeks). Dogs with extremely matted coats will be charged extra.

 

5. 4paws is committed to giving every care and attention to your dog, but please note they are accepted at the owners risk.

 

6. Our first concern is for the welfare of your dog so in the event of injury or illness we may call a vet and unless it can be clearly shown that 4 Paws are liable, all costs in connection with and in the carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owners expense. We therefore recommend you take out adequate dog Insurance.

 

7. Under no circumstances do 4paws accept sedated dogs.

 

8. Owners are requested not to feed their dogs in the 2 hours prior to their appointment and ensure their animals are toileted. A dog with a stomach full of food and a full bowel/bladder will find the grooming process very uncomfortable. We reserve the right to charge for the additional time and cleaning materials required in cleaning up after your dog.

 

9. Payment must be made on collection of the dog. Owners are requested to collect their dogs at the time stated.

 

10. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, without contacting us, then we may have to reschedule your slot and reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee.

 

11. It is a requirement that you advise us prior to your appointment if your dog has any medical conditions, is taking medication prescribed by a vet and any other information which could help us provide a stress free dog grooming service for your dog.

 

12. Photographs will be taken of your dog before after or during it's groom. We reserve the right to use these photographs in our marketing activites unless you notify us otherwise.We photograph and/or video every case of neglect brought into the salon for grooming and we also save a sample of fur. We reserve the right to use these items as we deem appropriate.

 

13. Teeth descaling and anal gland expression are now deemed vet proceedures and are not part of any service offered at 4paws.

 

14.Muzzles are only used as a very last resort, but will be used if necessary. Should your dog’s behaviour place either me or itself in danger, then the groom will be stopped, you will be required to collect your dog and the full cost of the groom will apply however little grooming has been carried out on the dog.

 

15. Companions Pets Ltd will not force any procedure on your dog, therefore if your dog objects to any part of the groom that part will not be performed. Price reductions will not be offered for incomplete grooms due to the dogs behaviour. Companions Pets Ltd will offer help/advice in an attempt to overcome your dogs fear to work towards a full groom.

 

16. Please do NOT to bring dogs for grooming who are exhibiting signs of ill health such as vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, high temperature etc.

 

WE MAY REFUSE TO GROOM DOGS THAT PRESENT A RISK OF INJURY TO THEMSELVES OR STAFF.
